The street photographer can be seen as an extension of the flâneur, an observer of the street .a person who records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge. Street photographers do not necessarily have a social purpose in mind, but they prefer to isolate and capture moments which might otherwise go unnoticed.the street photographer is similar to social documentary photographers or photojournalists who also work in public places, but with the aim of capturing newsworthy events; any of these photographers’ images may capture people and property visible within or from public places.

Well, I’m Belarusian but I reside in Istanbul/Turkey now. The motto for my life is CARPE DIEM (seize the moment). Maybe that’s why street photography is one of my great passions in life. I’m desperately in love with street photography because it is unpredictable. That’s what makes it a challenge. Leaving your house you have no idea what you might see during your street hunt. Letting go and being present in the streets is a liberating feeling. You’re capturing fleeting moments that will never occur the same way again. Well, I took my first candid photos only at the beginning of 2018 but I wish I had discovered it sooner.
Mostly I try to catch some moments of everyday life of Istanbul in more or less artistic way…and I love experimenting with my camera (trying to create something out of nothing). My gallery is pretty chaotic but most of all I’m addicted to silhouettes, shadows and reflections. With street photography you learn to appreciate these little things and details that are always around us but are usually taken for granted. Stay focused, folks!

Josh lives in NYC and makes documentary films and photos.
In 2015, Josh began an ongoing project called FACES (faces-pictures.com) which consists of spontaneously shot documentary films and photos.
He’s made over 26 films and thousands of photos under this project and has no plans to stop.
Josh makes his living as a filmmaker and photographer and spends most of his off hours making even more films and photos while finding time to fly fish as much as possible.

Katerina Christina
Katerina Christina is a 25-year-old, Greek-American fine art street, documentary, and studio photographer based in San Francisco. She first picked up a camera in early 2018 in search of a creative outlet to balance her mechanical engineering studies at Stanford University. What started as a hobby is now a daily source of inspiration and appreciation of the world around her. Her street photography focuses on slowing down to appreciate the small but powerful moments we often miss consumed in technology—the quiet moments in the chaos. Her perspective in street photography is shaped by the chaos of the years before and at Stanford when she rarely took the time to appreciate the swiftly passing moments around her. Now she documents these moments every day with the hope that others will be inspired by her images to slow down and take in the world around them with admiration and respect.
Her long-term documentary project ‘Shattered Glass’ tells the stories of women around the world who are shattering barriers and expectations in male-dominated roles, giving fellow females the role models, exposure, and resources they need to break into these fields, all while unapologetically embracing their femininity.
Outside of photography, Katerina creates line drawings with both pen and charcoals. Her style mirrors that of her photography, using minimalism to evoke emotion and intrigue.

Katarzyna Urbanek, freelance photographer from Poland. Graduate Association of Polish Art Photographers and Academy of photo reportage at University of Warsaw. Winner first prize of the Open Wall on Luxembourg Street Photography Festival 2019, laureate “Short Street Stories” Trieste Photo Days Festival 2019, Brussels Street Photography Festival 2019, Leica Street Photo Poland 2018. She participated in several other exhibitions. Her passion is documenting city street life.

Her love for street photography comes from her love to observe people. The unpredictability of everyday life fascinates her. She prefers the process of being an observer as opposed to being part of the scene. The common thread that runs through all her pictures is that they are all dealing with human sentiments and emotions. It feels that the place does not seem to matter for her. It’s hard to notice whether she took us to Warsaw, New York, London, Hanoi, Brussels or Milan. These are all short stories kept in one shot. Reflections of memories, reveries, fears and dreams. Emotions and funny moments captured and wrapped with an abstract humor. She comments the moments that were very fragile and, therefore passed. You may return to the very same place. Even if the light would be similar, the same story will not happen again.

Hi, I am Birgül KOÇ. I live in İstanbul. I am a gynecologist interested in streetphotography.
Street photography, in my opinion, is a concept that is beyond the classical fictional tendencies; it implicates contrasts, spontaneities. it is the light, the shadow, the irregularity. Every passing day in my career I notice that the every day and every moment of life contains different types of people, cases, excitements, worries and joys at the same time. With all this and the necessity of deciding fast and taking action makes me exited and makes my mind, my heart and my soul come to the same line. I feel so lucky because I live in İstanbul; when I leave my home it is possible to encounter a new case that excites me at every corner and every street of this beautiful city.
My portfolio contains only the photographs that are taken in İstanbul. They are taken spontaneously and without any fiction.I am member of Turkuazstreet Collective based in İstanbul.

My inspiration is my home city, Brighton. Brighton has a reputation for being a ‘free-thinking city’ – and my photography reflects
some of that free-thinking spirit.I walk out of my front door without knowing what I might find – curiosity is my motivation.
If I’m lucky I might arrive home having photographed something surreal, something humorous or maybe something graphically pleasing.
I like to walk with an open mind and experiment with the moment as it unfolds.
I’m a graphic designer and street photographer based in Brighton, UK.
After 3 decades in graphic design I was unable to ignore my passion any longer and recently pledged to make more time for street photography.

Photography is my passion, my daily work and the best way to find peace and harmony. I take photos intuitively and with my camera I am like a child with a toy. Once I looked for frames hastily and hungrily, now I know that only when I slow down, I see so much more. It turned out I do not have to go far to catch an interesting moment. A stroll on a nearby beach, city, watching people – it may bring much joy.

About The Collection

”Anonymous heroes of everyday life” is a project that was born some time ago. When I looked through a few street pictures, I suddenly saw something common and universal in them. I felt certain anonymity of the man in urban public spaces. I think big urban spaces and fast pace of life make our anonymity grow. The city itself is becoming more and more distant to human nature and though we try to make up for its comfort with technology we feel alienated. However, in the middle of the day when you look closely enough, you can see nameless heroes separated from the urban bustle. In the pictures they can look a little bit lonely, though it didn’t have to be the way they felt. In everyday life we pass around a lot of people like that: thoughtful, busy or staying in reflection. Choosing the right way to look: from the distance, against the sun, reflected in a puddle, or focusing on the human shadow, helps us to see it more clearly.

I started taking street photographs in 2016, whilst working as a developer for a marketing agency in London. It was one simple decision to take my camera to work with me, but I instantly fell in love with photographing the streets. I am a self-taught photographer, and was already shooting music events on a limited part-time basis – but street photography taught me an entirely new approach to photography. It rekindled my enjoyment of capturing the moment, demanding a relinquishing of control combined with a new level of intuition and instinct. In 2019 I started my wedding and event photography business full-time, from my home on the West Sussex and Surrey border in the UK. But street photography is my testing ground for experimentation and artistic expression, and I take nearly everything I learn from it into my freelance work. I honestly believe street photography is one of the most valuable, important genres of photography today – not only is it one of the most accessible ways into photography, but one that continues to teach and inspire photographers on many different levels.

About The Collection

With this series of photographs, I was particularly interested in the combination of line, shape, bold colours and minimalism. I wanted to use these qualities to express the hidden aesthetics in what might otherwise appear to be very ordinary aspects of urban life. With this style of work, I particularly enjoy how the medium of photography can transform the mundane into something surreal or humorous, simply by how it is composed and presented.

I am Georgie. I am a self-taught photographer based in London and I am a mother to three boys. I’ve had a sincere passion for music and photography from an early age. I have a rather wonderful ability to memorise lyrics and since starting my instagram account in early 2019 I have managed to bring together my two passions.
I’ve found an outlet for channelling my thoughts and expressing myself. I often search for an image that would fit a particular favourite lyric or vice versa. I might take an image and find a fitting lyric to turn it into a story or perhaps just an emotion. I can only hope my images translate to my audience in a way that they are left feeling moved in one way or another.

Rudy Boyer

Rudy Boyer is a 35 year old father of three living in Nice (France).
He is in charge of a concrete analysis laboratory in the building sector, but since 2013, when he finds the time (he is also a musician!), Rudy photographs the streets of his city and region in a remarkable way and has been polishing his style over the years.
He uses light and urban geometry to compose complex images which are full of surprises.
He is self-taught and resolutely unprofessional in his approach to photography.

This series is not one, it is rather a collection of images made through time, hours of patience and miles of walking.
These images bear witness to our time, while trying to keep a touch of humor.
I’m not trying to get a main idea from these images but only pleasure, pleasure in capturing them but also in showing them.
