As a self-taught photographer my passion for details has helped me discover a new dimension of visual understanding while acquiring a taste for the depth hidden in what seems to be meaningless.

    About The Collection

    I began to develop the Coincidence Project in late 2012. I came to realize that living in a society bombarded by information and images, the surroundings go unnoticed in front of our eyes and seem banal. Through the photograph of “coincidences” I have been able to rediscover the mystery of the reality, to show the underlying unity of the Whole through the juxtapositions of the elements that surround us daily.
    My search focuses on those details that make something very known and usual to us get out of its ordinary existence, to become a story that consumes you. The art of the coincidences that I gather in my images consists in the creation of a new space, free of duality, where we can escape and recreate ourselves. The images do not show beautiful, flashy or glorious scenes, but special places where the opposites meet to unite their differences. Where there are two, there seems to be three, and where there seems to be three there is actually only One.

    I went many years without asking a crucial question about my photographic obsession with hats.
    Why? I think I was afraid of the answer. I think I still am.
    It’s such a visceral attractio one that often has me going to great lengths to capture the “man in the hat”—that I’ve jumped into oncoming traffic and put myself in harm’s way to get the shot.
    I knew it was something deep inside me. I avoided thinking about the why for so long, but I’ve finally come to terms with the answer.
    First, it’s not a fashion statement and it’s not about the hats themselves—it is about the man under the fedora. It’s really about looking for the father I never had. I’m searching for my dad and in a twisted way a man in a hat is the ideal 1950s stereotype of a father figure.
    So, I keep coming back to the streets, searching, searching, searching

    Nukul Leekanchana

    My name is Nukul Leekanchana, a small business owner from Thailand. I’m 42 years old. I started shooting in 2017. Street photography is a hobby that I am passionate about. Before that my hobby was gaming, so go shooting on the street is kind of a game for me. It’s fun because you never know what you’re going to see, what you’re going to get while you go out. Street photography gives me spaces to use ideas to create and tell stories that are sometimes beyond reality. For me there’s a lot more to learn in photography, in order to communicate better, to know myself, and for me learning is another kind of fun too.

    All my life I have been photographing, but about four years ago something happened – I “discovered” street photography. It was really a revelation for me in my photographic work to include a person’s interaction with his/her surroundings. And people in an urban environment can really provide lots of opportunities to catch interesting interactions.Besides my passion for photography, I work professionally with industrial and graphic design.I graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1987, and I have lived in Copenhagen, Denmark, most of my life.

    About The Collection

    Mankind is a flock animal and we feel safe when we gather in large groups.But occasionally we stand alone. We unconsciously conquer the space we place ourselves in.We interact with it and own it for a moment.Our presence brings an unknown story, which activates the imagination of a witness to the scene, and a new visual context emerges.A photograph can sometimes bring an unknown story alive.
    It can accentuate and maybe clarify.

  • Taras Bychko

    Taras Bychko

    Taras Bychko  was born in Lviv in 1987 (Western Ukraine). He graduated from law school and for some time worked as a legal advisor at a large state-owned enterprise. When his baby was born, he bought his first camera and then discovered photography. Much has changed in his life since then, but photography continues to capture him more and more.
    He works within the genres of documentary and street photography. His work has been exhibited at the Miami Street Photo Festival (2016, 2017, 2018), Eastreet 4 – photography of Eastern Europe (2017), Odessa / Batumi Photo days (2017), Leica Street Photo(2018) and many other international and Ukrainian photo competitions.  He was the winner of the Ukrainian National Competition “Photographer of the Year 2016” in the category “Street Photography”; finalist and 2nd Best Overall Photo winner at the Documentary Family Awards(2018).
    His photo was included in the book “100 Great Street Photographs” (Prestel, 2017) and his photos have also been published in Burn Magazine, National Geographic, Lens Culture, 121 clicks, Bird in Flight and others.He is one of the founders of the group Ukrainian Street Photography and is a member of the Little Box Collective.

  • Paul Lukin

    Paul Lukin

    Born in the coastal city of Split, Croatia in 1980, Lukin started photographing in 2004 and has been obsessed with the medium ever since. He works on long-term, self-assigned projects, focusing on emotional and psychological studies of the human condition. His images often incorporate dark and mysterious undertones, creating an impressionistic allegorical narrative from documentary photographs that merges the deeply personal and collective. Lukin is a finalist of Sony World Photography Awards 2018, finalist of Siena International Photo Awards 2019, and was shortlisted for the World Press Photo 2019. He was also an invitee artist by European Cultural Center for the Venice Art Biennale 2019. His work has been exhibited in galleries internationally, including the prestigious Somerset House in London. His photographs appeared in publications and media outlets ranging from National Geographic, GUP Magazine to BBC.

     THE AGE OF MELANCHOLY
    As sadly rates of mental health issues are constantly increasing, The Age of Melancholy by Paul Lukin is a dark visual narrative that explores different aspects of life and loneliness from both personal and universal perspectives. In an age in which we’re all digitally connected, real connections seem to become harder to make. Loneliness is becoming a growing health epidemic of our era.

    Born February 24, 1984 in the Chuvash Republic of Russian Federation. I work in radio engineer technician. His main genres being street, documentary, art, landscape, photography. Member of Russian and international exhibitions.     This project is my research of the territories of my native Republic (Chuvashia), one of the regions of the Russian Federation. The pages will contain photos of residents in one of the many moments of their lives.

  • Piero Percoco

    Piero Percoco

    Pietro Percoco was born in December 1987. He grew up in Italy (Bari) but spent a lot of time living in Venezuela during his childhood.
    In 2010 he enrolled in a Forest and Environmental Sciences university programme at the University of Bari, but dropped out of the course after 2 years. In the same year, he shot a photograph of a lightning from a bridge, after spending hours waiting.
    During 2012, he participated in a photographic contest, named Leica Talent, through which he got to know the photographer, Alex Majoli, whom ended up inviting Piero to join him at Cesura, a Milan-based collective of photographers.
    The year after, he participated in the Leica Photographer Award, and was selected amongst the 50 finalists. In that same year, he also subscribed to Instagram, where immediately got noticed because of his unique perspective on his home region, the south of Italy.
    In 2017 he was asked to photograph Milan Fashion Week for Vogue Italy in collaboration with Huawei. He also collaborated with online and print magazines such as Rolling Stone Italia, Repubblica, Der Greif and Monopol.
    Summer 2018, he published his first photography book: Prism Interiors. The book was designed and edited entirely by Jason Fulford  and published by Skinnerboox. In the same year he was featured by New Yorker Photo who featured his work for 7 days. At the beginning of 2019 he will be exhibited during Photo Wien 2019 by Viennese Gallery OstLicht.

    Ayman Nakib

    I am Ayman Nakib from Bangladesh. I have started my street photography journey in 2017 when I was a student of SUST, Sylhet, Bangladesh. I tried to explore the street of Sylhet through my lens and this gave me much joy happiness. I love to explore the candid moments that are happening around me and capture them, hoping to freeze some magical moment with the click of my shutter.
    After graduation, I moved back to my hometown Sherpur for a few months and I really enjoyed exploring my hometown in a new way through my viewfinder.
    I am currently living in Dhaka. I would love to continue my journey and explore the people, culture and daily life of the places I visit through my photography.

    Avik Roy Chowdhury

    My name is Avik Roy Chowdhury and I’ve been doing photography for over a year now.
    Being an avid fan of art and literature, I focus on observing more before taking pictures.  To me, photogrphy is a way to express our thoughts, perceptions, the kind of things we believe in.  It’s a way to establish connection.
    I’m inclined towards street photography a bit more compared to other genres, I try to find synchronisation amidst chaos,  I don’t have a formal education when it comes to photography, I read about art, watch a lot of films and try to find inspiration from these.
    I have been working with Pacific Press Agency as a photojournalist from last year. My work has been published in IPA and XXZ magazine, currently, I am pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science

    The photos I’ve shared do not follow a sequence rather than depicting up-close, personal emotions we all express. We often find ourselves amidst chaos but the presence of harmony in chaos is quite uncanny. These pictures are taken around Kolkata – The city of Joy.

    I was born in Springfield, Missouri, and raised in suburban Memphis, TN where I studied illustration and photography.I earned my degree in photography in Memphis and have been working as a studio photographer for almost 20 years. In 2018, I began documenting my everyday life here in New York City.  This became the project  A Fragile Utopia. I reside in Brooklyn with my wife and young son.

    About The Collection

    The work presented here is primarily from a series titled  A Fragile Utopia. I began this project as a way to get back on my feet, metaphorically speaking. After a couple of life-changing incidents occurred here on the street in New York. Though street photography is quite a departure from my studio background, it’s been enormously rewarding. Street photography and this project have really helped me piece my life back together. This series is both a diary and a meditation on joy.

    At the age of seventeen I was given my first camera, it was the same camera my mother had used to document our childhood, she used to photograph our everyday and create family albums that I have looked at hundreds of times. Without really knowing or thinking about what I was doing, I took photographs of my high school and university years. I started doing the same my mother did, documenting my every day, mainly the people around me, my family, my friends, people I met on my way. Street photography came naturally, it had to be that way. The process of photography is so beautiful, it makes you see things in such a different way, that pictures present themselves to you wherever you are.

    About The Collection

    I am simply someone that documents my everyday with the help of the camera. It helps me understand everything that happens around me and my place in it, and I do it mostly for myself, because it makes me happy, because I see extraordinary things and moments thanks to the camera.
    I would say I take pictures with my heart, do some thinking during the editing process and wish I had more time to be a bit more serious about it and be able to prepare a complete series of work instead of 20 pictures from different unfinished projects.
