    Danilo Suzuki

My name is Danilo Suzuki, I’m from Brazil, but living in Japan since 2016. I have a background in architecture, so taking photos of famous buildings was a pretty regular hobby for me. Often in architecture photography is much needed to show the human scale, thus including a person in the frame. From that point, a shift towards street photography was very natural, and now, people became my main subject. It is fascinating for me how complex street photography is in terms of evaluating how good is a given picture and also the dynamics involving; if you explore the three-dimensional aspect of architecture photography (maybe four, if you show a person moving with a slow shutter speed , for example), on the streets I think we deal with maybe a fifth dimension: emotions. And that is a game changer.

    About the collection…

This photos were all taken within the last two years, and I think street photography has a role of showing our present time and documenting what’s happening now, whether is good or not. I don’t think Shomei Tomatsu was having fun photographing post-war Japan, neither Steve McCurry and Alex Webb in 9/11 NYC. In Japan, the already well-reserved citizens became even more distant, the masks and suspicious looks are trendy and we don’t see the joy we used to see on streets. But emotions are there. We just have to squint our eyes a little bit.

    Santiago Martinez De Septien

My name is Santiago Martinez de Septien, engineer by profession and amateur photographer. Born in Burgos, on 64, and living now in Malaga, Spain. Father of a numerous family, I’ve always had a fascination for photography, but it was in these last few years that I’ve discovered it deeply.

I define myself as a “weekend photographer”. I actually work as an industrial engineer in Andalucía, but my interest in immortalizing moments surged many years ago.

As a young boy I took pictures of the fields of Castilla with disposable cameras. Mid 80s I discovered the magic of development thanks to a friend from college in Madrid, who taught me the art of capturing light in a silly box in those analog times. From the darkness, the images started projecting into a wet piece paper like magic.

Afterwards, when I finished my studies and started my professional life, the photographer fell asleep somewhere within me.

But the biggest breakthrough in photography for me took place a few years back when Susana, my wife, sold a watch she no longer used and gifted me my first digital camera. This allowed me to revive this hobby again.

My children, Rodrigo, Cristina and little Paula along with Susana, have been my first models, I owe them for their patience and stolen time.

With keen interest in street photography and portraits I have been influenced by classic photographers such as Cartier Bresson, Eliot Erwitt, , Brassai, Michael Kenna…

who changed the way I see thinks.

Premier Padmini taxis, first introduced to the streets of Mumbai in the 1960s, have now all but disappeared following the introduction of laws to reduce pollution in the city. Locally known as ‘Kaali-Peeli’, there were once more than 60,000 of these iconic black and yellow cabs struggling through the chaos of Mumbai’s streets.

Over a four-year period, Dougie Wallace documented these elaborate Bollywood disco bars on wheels. The crowded streets of Mumbai and the assortment of passengers provide a dynamic and intense backdrop, as do the cabs themselves. Many are pimped out with large speakers in the boot that blast out Bollywood hits, or are colorfully decorated inside with posters of Bollywood actresses, upholstered in loud hypnotic patterns, or feature Hindu gods and goddess on the dashboard.

    Tribute to La Bata

This project plays tribute to a very specific kind of woman. The bata is a working dress that she wears. I want to give her a voice.

She was the matriarch in a strongly patriarchal society. Raised to take care of their family, she rarely ever had the chance to even think about her own possible dreams. We talk about an unrepresented and unappreciated group.
I want to give her the homage that they deserve. This type of woman is in danger of extinction, just as the bata is. In my culture, Europe, they are the last generation. These photo sessions are a creative adventure where these women enter a state of playfulness without even realizing it. I take their portrait in their villages, houses and places of work. They break their strong mental and time routines. They get transformed and they in turn transform their environment.

These women live in a remote village called Villarmienzo, in Spain. With around 20 inhabitants, Villarmienzo is affected by depopulation as most of the rural areas. These 6 women who have lived here since they were born, accepted to be portrayed by me and play as if they were in a fashion shooting.

I create a magic zone when the bata women feel free to express their creative craziness during our sessions. The bata is the point around which my study revolves. From there, I analyze gender issues, sociopolitical changes in society and human landscapes. Humor is an important component in my work. It is the entry door to reach different levels of interpretation. I create sociological portraits.

Streets and people have an interpretation for me beyond passage ways and passengers. I look at details and think of character. A new atmosphere is created every time someone walks across the frame. They do not have identity without their surrounding nor places have one without them.

    Jeffrey De Keyser

Jeffrey De Keyser (born 23 February 1984 in Kortrijk) is a Ghent-based Belgian street photographer who likes to focus on the surreal and absurd condition of human existence.
He sees photography as a mirror of the subconscious, as an existential inquiry into perception, as a way of questioning the Camusian conflict between the human tendency to seek meaning and purpose in life and the human inability to find any.
His aim as a photographer is to portray a slice of the human condition, a glimpse of the subconscious mind through a universal visual language. His photography is strongly inspired by the surrealist movement.
His work has been exhibited and curated internationally, including at the Brussels Street Photography Festival, the London Street Photography Festival, the Italian Street Photo Festival in Rome, and Street Sans Frontières in Paris.
Features that have been published online include PhotoVogue, Life Framer and Eyeshot Magazine.
In Belgium, he has exhibited and been awarded at the Fotonale in Bruges, the photo festival ‘Lens op de Mens’ in Pelt, as well as at shows curated by the visual arts platform Breedbeeld.
His first solo exhibition ‘Catharsis’ – in collaboration with Fotografiecircuit Vlaanderen – is currently on tour across Flanders, Belgium until the end of 2021.

I’m Tomer, 36 years old, father of Emanuel and Ariel, married to Sharon and my  Leica  camera.
My love story with photography started at 17. At 22, the hobby became a profession, and with Leica – I realized a dream.
Leica is a manual camera brand that enables single, clean and clear photography.
Each photo with her manages to capture truly special moments, one by one.
Taking pictures with her on the street is one of my greatest joys in life.
When I’m not filming in the country, I go to Berlin or New York City.
There’s nothing like Sunday’s atmosphere, freedom or market in Berlin, or the beautiful people of the East Village in Manhattan which has long become my second home.
My photos have starred in coveted magazines in the world of photography, and at  National Geographic Photography  Competition,
I was awarded second place in photography in interesting areas in Berlin.
On my Instagram page, everything has come together: document the day-to-day authenticity, teach Emmanuel to take a photo with her personal Leica.

Photography has always been a reason for me to document life, in recent years I have changed the approach to this type of documentation.
I feel lucky to have recognition in Italy and in the world, with which I have been able to relate to other realities and get to know enthusiasts of street photography.

    About The Collection

Since 2014 I started using the camera as a tool to create a moment of personal escape.
I have many shots in the archive but I mostly publish juxaposition shots with which I am better known.
I like to create stories by combining elements that I find on the street, sometimes surreal other bizarre, I move with my mind always full of the details that I find on the street trying to keep them all under control and foreseeing what can happen.
This approach frees my mind from daily commitments and makes me feel completely immersed in this vision of mine.
I prefer not to pose the subjects and find satisfaction in being able to capture a moment that could hardly repeat itself in front of me.
When i take the time to take pictures, I love to stay suspended in this search of mine even for hours, with a camera in hand you are never alone.

    About The Collection

When it comes to Dhaka, most of the time we get to hear how overpopulated the city is, or how bad the living conditions are there.
Before photographing streets, I used to think like that too.
But once I started exploring the streets in Dhaka, especially in the old town, I found that this city is full of hidden gems.
The 412 years old capital city of Bangladesh is filled with history, traditions, architecture from Mughal and British era, and people with authentic, unique lifestyles.
Especially the old town of Dhaka is full of life with the essence of true Bengali lifestyle. All the narrow lanes, alleyways are very photogenic, each street have its own vibe and character.
Though in a first glance it might seem very chaotic and crowded, but eventually I fell in love with that chaos.
There is a certain beauty in the middle of that bustling crowds, old buildings, and streets. It’s very raw, vibrant, and part of the daily life.
That’s what I wanted to capture in this series, to show how different and unique life can be in this part of the world.
