Born in the coastal city of Split, Croatia in 1980, Lukin started photographing in 2004 and has been obsessed with the medium ever since. He works on long-term, self-assigned projects, focusing on emotional and psychological studies of the human condition. Lukin is a finalist of Sony World Photography Awards 2018, finalist of Siena International Photo Awards 2019, and was shortlisted for the World Press Photo 2019. He was also an invitee artist by European Cultural Center for the Venice Art Biennale 2019. His work has been exhibited in galleries internationally, including the prestigious Somerset House in London. His photographs appeared in publications and media outlets ranging from National Geographic, GUP Magazine to BBC.
