My name is Wiesław Mamoń, born in 1966 and I’m a Polish engineer and teacher. My adventure with photography started relatively late in my life, when I was in my mid-thirties. At first I enjoyed landscape and travel photography most, but it wasn’t until I attended some photo exhibitions where I came across works by such artists like Pedro Luis Raota, Stanko Abadzic and Manuel Alvarez Bravo that I got fascinated by how photography turns 3(or more)D reality into its 2D interpretation. As in this process the role of photographer is crucial, I found it intellectually challenging and entertaining to create my own visual stories. Apart from inspirations from masters of street and documentary photography my photos basically reflects my personal qualities, experience and family, cultural and religious background.
About The Collection
This collection is a mix of my shots from 2009-2019, taken both in crowded places of big cities where I often got to with the intention of shooting and in quieter surroundings during my family trips. In my photos I look for beauty, harmony and positive emotions rather than shocking or provoking content. Compositions that are aesthetically pleasing, sometimes surprising and/or funny, usually showing ordinary people in their everyday situations. I enjoy playing with long exposure and visual illusions.
