Tag: street photograph

is a type of photograph that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge. Street photographers do not necessarily have a social purpose in mind, but they prefer to isolate and capture moments which might otherwise go unnoticed.

    Author of two “photobook:
    – “A vida um instante” (2013)

I do Photography for passion and as a form of personal artistic expression in a perspective of sharing and communicating with society. I like to photograph spontaneous and unprepared life in its interaction with the surroundings and in unusual, unique and unrepeatable moments, without forgetting the composition. In a photograph, I value life moments and emotions more than technique.I like to travel to photograph. I shoot in the street discreetly and stealthily (candid) however, sometimes, I also interact with people photographing them with their consent.
I publish BW and color, on Instagram and Facebook. We are all Observed and We are all Observers. To photograph is to communicate.

    About The Collection

This selection of 20 photographs had as a concept not only the display in the cities where I photographed, but also the “representation” of my “eclecticism” in the approach of themes. In fact, I like to photograph in the streets, either in a discreet and stealthy way, or in direct contact and with the consent of those portrayed. I also like the so-called “decisive moment”, the aesthetic integration and interaction of the human being with the environment and also registering moments of humor and irony.

    Kaio Bastos

I am Kaio Bastos, freelance photographer living in downtown São Paulo. When not in action in the studio, I dedicate a few hours of my day photographing the city. The camera provides a second universe where I can play and fit my imagination into the reality surrounding me. I enjoy how the city expresses itself with unique characters, lights and experiences, in many occasions as if living in dreams.

    About The Collection

    Empírico
It’s a fact that relies only on what has been lived and what has been seen; that whole knowledge earned throughout our existence. The human mind as if it was a blank canvas on which we bestow, on a daily basis through sensations, information and wisdom.
This project is based on attempts and failures, immediate, spontaneous and sensible moments of everyday life occuring in my city. It’s about interacting with the subjective and prosaic in AMUSING FASHION

  • Andy Hann

    Andy Hann

Andy Hann was born and raised primarily in Southern California. Along with skateboarding and surfing, he developed a deep passion for art and design which he followed into art school and then a prosperous 30 year career in entertainment advertising. After numerous awards and accolades, he says that he woke up one day and decided he was all done pandering to clients, picked up a camera and just starting shooting. “photography”, he now says, “is like a booger on my finger that I just can’t shake”.
Utilizing his formal design training and decades worth of advertising work, photography is a craft that seems to come quite naturally to Hann. Along with his strong sense of composition and use of natural light, he also infuses his offbeat sense of humor into most of his shots.
He says he is now on a quest to find the soul of his hometown.

    About The Collection

    WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD
A three year photo essay of Hollywood Blvd.
Even as a young punk I was fascinated with the spectacle of Hollywood Boulevard. Equal parts circus and train wreck, for me it has always been a microcosm of all that is funky about America. Celebrity worship, garish displays of faux wealth, drug addiction, homelessness, exploitation, and urban decay – all on display for mindless tourists who meander about, handing out the money that perpetuates it all.
This book is a three year photo essay that takes a hard look at the vendors, residents, and visitors of the quarter mile stretch known by the locals as “the boulevard of broken dreams”. While never seeking to mock any individuals, it is a deliberate effort to poke a stick at our culture, and hold up a mirror as to who we are.

    About The Collection

This particular collection of images are selections from David’s first book, titled Lonesome City, with a few others tossed into the mix. David’s work frequently explores the universal theme of urban isolation and disconnection, a fly-on-the-wall glimpse of life in the big city. As a street photographer, David has embraced the iPhone as his camera of choice for the last 10 years, finding its small size and ubiquity provide him with a certain level of invisibility in the streets that he was never able to achieve with larger, more traditional cameras.

  • Zach Kalman

    Zach Kalman

I am a photographer living in the Washington, DC area. I make pictures in the places where live and work, but I don’t feel that my photography is about those places. Instead, I engage in the self-indulgent practice of photographing whatever it feels good to point the camera at. My wife and son are the inspiration for everything I do, and the theme of family seems to show up in many of my pictures.

  • Roberto Di Patrizi

    Roberto Di Patrizi

Born in 1964, I have started photography in October 2010, when my wife gave me a camera as a gift for my birthday. But I always shyly loved it even though I was born as a musician. I played guitar in bars and performed as a street singer. I played a lot, without a real project, experiencing many different jobs. Everyone has his own monsters to fight and I need to learn something new every day in order to go to sleep peacefully. Now, I am an educator in middle schools for children with cognitive-behavioral disorders.
Every day I get through the station to go to work. Every day I take pictures as I walk to get the subway after getting off the train. Railway station, an immense crossroad of individuals of all ethnicities and nationalities, has become my hunting ground. In this fascinating no-man’s-land so many stories intertwine every day and all of them deserve to be told. I do what I can. I believe that shooting is a way to circumvent Time to make me caress Eternity in secret.
    I am a commuter. And I’m a streepher.

    About The Collection

In city life, our surroundings may seem crowded with people, like a chaos and sometimes even like a jungle. But sometimes a silhouette, a shadow, a geometric forming of architecture with a special angle of light, helps us to find the beauty in most ordinary places.
Aesthetics is hidden for us to see and often comes out easily with a minimalistic approach.
